It's truly baffling why some of the design decisions were made. It's just a shame that it uses so many mechanics that are nothing but anti-fun in rather bizarre ways. That said, the core gameplay is still incredibly solid and features some fantastic moment to moment gameplay. There is a stamina system for each individual hero, long grind times for each hero, and an upgrade system that has a random chance to downgrade your gear. What's truly bizarre is that many of these mechanics are mechanics that mobile games use to waste your time and entice you into spending money, but there's no microtransactions to be had. What that means for this entry, however, is that there are unfortunately a lot of mechanics added that do little but pad time.
